At the Antananarivo airport in you will be greeted by our guide from the agency and he will take you to the hotel.
We will leave the capital after breakfast to Andasibe.Stop en route for short breaks. Lunch on arrival and afternoon visit of the town. Check-in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight.
Morning drive to the South part along the RN7 to the Zafimaniry village recognised as a Unesco heritage by its unique traditional overview. Upon arrival at Antoetra, start the hike from there to the village of Sakaivo. Walk for about 3 to 4 hours with a packed lunch. Upon arrival, visit of this village and discover the daily activities of the Zafimaniry people (sub-tribe of the Betsileo) and the beautiful landscape of the region. Check in at a local people’s house in the afternoon, dinner and overnight. (LOCAL HOUSE)
Walk to Fanandrana cascade as a morning excursion then back to the car and drive to Ranomafana NP. Hotel check in upon arrival before evening walk with a local guide to see nocturnal lemurs, reptiles, etc.
Morning walk into the park with a local guide. This rainforest has about 12 species of lemurs which are different from the previous parks and a very interesting vegetation. Back to the hotel for lunch, then afternoon at leisure with possibility to walk around the village or visit of the thermal pool before evening walk to see many varieties of chameleons and nocturnal lemurs, reptiles, with a local guide. Overnight.
Drive to Andringitra NP with stop at the town of Ambalavao to see the Antemoro paper and silk factories. After lunch in town, continue to Andringitra. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel. Overnight.
Meet the local guide and porters in the morning then start the hike into the park by visiting the Asaramanitra circuit and hiking “Diavolana circuit” with its lunar landscape called “alien”. Stop at the sacred waterfall before hiking up to Andriampotsy campsite. Picnic lunch inside the park. Dinner and overnight on camping . (CAMP SITE)
Another full day to explore Andringitra national park . By walking up to peak Boby at 2650m altitude then hike down around midday to Andranolava or at Antaranaomby campsite; always having picnic lunch inside the park. the hike takes approximately 6 hours. Dinner and overnight at the campsite. (CAMP SITE)
Last hike down to Morarano for about 3 hours at Sahambano’s valley then drive to Isalo national park via Ihosy where you’ll have lunch before crossing the largest plateau of Ihorombe. Hotel check-in on arrival. Overnight.
Morning hike into the national park. Start by visiting the cascade de Nymphe into the canyon of Namazà before walking up to the plateau then hike towards the “piscine naturelle” where we can take a bath. Picnic lunch is provided while hiking. Back to the hotel in the afternoon and drive to the “fenêtre de l’Isalo”. Overnight.
Morning drive to Ifaty via Tuléar where we will have lunch, continuation by car until Ifaty for an hour in the afternoon. On arrival, hotel check-in and afternoon at leisure. Overnight.
Morning visit of the spiny forest to see the baobab forest, the endemic species of bird, on this place and some baobabs, medicinal plants, lemur (red tailed sportive lemur). Back to the Hotel for lunch, Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.
Full day at leisure on the beach of Ifaty. Optional activities (snorkeling, diving, etc) could be organized by the hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Airport transfer to take the flight back to Antananarivo. Transfer to the hotel on arrival. Overngight.
End of the journey
Each day includes 3 meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and accommodation at various hotels. Transportation will be done in a small (4×4) vehicle from our agency or by airplane booked by our agency in advance. Our guide will accompany you throughout the trip and will be your private ambassador to Madagascar.
The trip details for each day are an outline of what you will see and experience. Madagascar is such a divers and unique country that each place you will visit will offer a complex and unforgettable experience. The focus of this trip is to discover the unique flora and fauna that Madagascar has to offer. During the trip, you will encounter many species of lemurs, chameleons, rare birds, reptiles, and trough our local guides you will learn many interesting things about the endemic nature of Madagascar. During the 10 days, you will go from rain forests to the tropical island of Saint-Marie, and you will discover the fascinating culture and landscape of East Madagascar.
Some things cannot easily be put in to words and are truly personal experiences, such as getting to know the wonderful local Malagasy people, hearing their stories, their language, traditions and culture.
